HEYA PEEPS! I'm back from ISRAEL!=)actually posted about my Israel trip a few days ago, unfortunately, after posting, not a single word appeared!!!!!-.- Anyway, many people ask me why I would want to go to Israel. Well, i wanted to walk where my saviour had walked before, and see the places the bible described so i can visualise it more clearly=). Also, I want to float in the dead sea. hahaha! Many people thought that it's actually a third world country-_-". No, it's not, it's pretty advanced in technology. I thought the airport there was really nice=) and could be compared to Singapore airport, though it's smaller.
The church organised the trip, so i went there with clare and two busloads of church ppl! Made many new friends=D ! After arriving at Israel, almost everyone took out thick fat jackets to change into.Clare and I were left with our pathetic jackets for the whole freezing day, and we felt really pathetic. haha. On the first day we toured Caesara,Nazareth and Mount Carmel. Along the tour, we kept seeing migrating birds in the V shape. The person behind us who is here for the 4th time said that he had never seen so many migrating birds and that we were really blessed to have seen so many!=DStayed at Sheraton Hotel Tiberius for the first 4 days. Clare and I had the room with a view facing the Sea of Galilee!=D Really blessed!=))
The next day, we sat on a boat and sailed through the Sea Of Galilee where Jesus once walked on water there=)) Oh yea.. the water there is actually fresh water~=oFed seagulls!=D Presence of god there was nice, sweet and wonderful. After that we went to the Mount of Beatitudes where Jesus once preached to the multitudes. Our tour leader pretended to be Jesus and walked up to talk and we could all hear him real clear. That place had like real good surroundings to amplify the person's voice.
Went to Jerusalem the following day!=) It was colder there than in Tiberius. When u talked, there was mist coming out frm ur mouth=/. All of us Singaporeans found it interesting. hahaha.Over at Jerusalem, we went to the desert where Jesus fasted for 40 days and 40 nights, went to Beth She'an- the largest roman city uncovered by archeologists there,Gideon Springs,Garden of Gethsemane, Mount of Olives,Gollan Heights etc.
We also went to En Gedi to see the cave where David and his 300 soldiers hid from Saul.Didn't expect to hike-_-. So when we went there we were a little surprised that we had to climb climb climb and cross little rivers. It was worth it anyway. Reached the top to see a pretty waterfall and the big cave(half of which had fallen because of an earthquake a long time ago).
Tour guide also brought us to the Garden Tomb where Jesus was believed to have been placed after he died, and to the dungeon where Jesus was kept as a prisoner before he died. There was a silhoutte of a praying figure on the wall of the dungeon which couldn't be explained.=/.
By the 4th day, everybody started missing Singapore food, and whenever one person in the tour mentioned HOR FUN or smth, everyone around would start moaning and calling out names of all other Singaporean food like meepok and charkwayteow. So funny la the ppl.
On the 5th day, we went to the DEAD SEA!=D of course, I floated=)). Everyone who went in put the dead sea mud on themselves hahaha. Dead sea mud really works! After u wash it off your skin would be damn smooth!
On the last day we toured the Valley of Elah where David defeated Goliath, before heading back to Singapore!
There's too wonderful things about Israel that a blog entry can't suffice to describe it and I'm lazy to blog ALL about the entire trip anyways lol. This is just a fraction of the trip I blogged about..If u really want to see how fabulous Israel is, go there to see for yourself. haha!
A pretty photo:
